Efficient and Smart Heating Controls adopting Plug'n'Play
Sustainability and the economical use of resources have never been as important as they are today. New wireless technologies such as LoRaWAN offer a wide range of options for efficient energy management thanks to their pioneering capabilities.
Smart sensor solutions for temperature measurement, status monitoring and heating control make an important key contribution to sustainable room automation. On this website, we present the structure and functionality of a LoRaWAN-based room automation system.
- Significantly reduce heating costs
- Simple commissioning via Plug'n'Play
- Evaluation via online dashboards
Application example:
1. Measured value acquisition:
The combination of room operating unit (NOVOS 3), multisensor (MCS) and valve actuator (SAB07) enables continuous monitoring and control of the various room parameters. The recorded measured values are transmitted to a gateway via LoRaWAN radio protocol.
2. Data transmission:
The gateway then forwards the recorded data to a downstream system. You are free to decide whether you want to forward the received data directly to a cloud-based service or to a local system.
3. Evaluation/Monitoring:
Depending on the desired evaluation option, cloud-based systems such as MQTT can be used for IT-based applications. Alternatively, the data can also be integrated into an existing BUS system. The connection to BUS systems (e.g. Modbus or BACnet) is made using a converter such as the NBnano.
4. Measures:
Software can be used to recognise behaviour patterns and take appropriate measures, such as reducing the heating output or switching off the lights.
